Basically, it sucks. I haven’t tried them all (yet) but I have tried a few. BI is not the worst. For example, with BAM you have to use their application on your cellular phone to do the authentication. I try to do as little as possible on my phone.
Anyway, moving along here is the message I sent to a friend after my last bill payer episode.
I know I said in my last Email that the bank system totally sucked. I started paying immediately after my last message. I am now done (almost). It has been 51 minutes. I paid two water bills, three electric bills, one phone bill and one the “maintenance fee” for the apartment. Seven bills in 51 minutes.
In contrast, my Starlink payment is automatic. I get an email a few days before it is due and then the receipt for payment after it is paid. If a company not based in Guatemala can do that, it would seem like a Guatemala company and a Guatemala bank could get their shit together.
This morning I got am email from the bank asking how my last bill pay experience was. I prepared myself to tell them. I clicked on there link and got this page.
I think there is an opportunity for some business to do a real bill pay system here.
