One of the things I brag about in the book is the weather — if you pick the altitude that fits the weather you want. I just set up a weather station where I live in Guatemala City so you can see what sort of weather we have.
I am located in the heart of the city about 1 kilometer north of the central park, right by Parque Jocotenango.
You can get the weather page at Weathercloud.
For those of you who heard me say it is between 10C and 30C here year round, you may wonder why the max temperature is shown at 32.1C. That happened when I was installing the weather station. It was sitting about a foot above my roof so the sensor was pretty much telling me the temperature of my roof, not of the air. Let’s see if it ever gets that hot again.
It’s about to rain. The way you know is that the wind comes up. This is something I learned when I was first visiting Costa Rica. There is a restaurant (I forget the name) in Liberia, Costa Rica with a huge tree outside and then some tables in a covered area.
One day when I got there the wind was just starting to come up so I picked a table in the covered area as did everyone else. Then a group of Gringo girls came, commented (in English, of course) how there was a nice table outside and sat down. Five minutes later they were quickly relocating.
