I have been using US Global Mail for over 20 years. They offer a reasonably-priced address in Houston Texas that you can US as your US address. Whenever a letter or package is received they inform you via e-mail. You then have control over how it is handled.
Your choices include forwarding, discarding and scanning. I believe they now even offer a choice to deposit a check. When I was receiving a lot of mail to that address I would have them save up assorted letters and packages and then forward them as a package.
For me they have been 100% reliable. Not the same experience I have heard described with other mail forwarders by people I know.
